With Hosanna/integrity Music's welcome musical diversification this exciting album shows just what can happen when praise and worship and black gospel meet. Much more successful than Morris Chapman's similar move into a praise/gospel synthesis, Ron, who I must confess is a new name to me has a belting voice and is a sensitive worship leader, allowing the Spirit to whip up the congregation but never resorting to hectoring or manipulation. Still one or two too many languages of Zion cliches in the material but all in all a delightful and exciting album.

Abraham Laboriel on Ancient of Days? This guy is gone
totally crazy over the bass guitar and he makes the whole
church rock with his playing. I'm also a bassist, but still
can't get enough of Abe ... if there's anyone who knows how
to make a bass guitar talk, ... Abe sure knows.
