Seldom has a recording come with such useful nutritional info! The cleverly designed sleeve tells us that the ingredients include "crunchy electric guitars, banjo, tambourine, sizzling bass and tattered drum kit". If you've seen this zany communicator in action during the recent Philippa Hanna tour you'll know that Roo is both a hugely proficient guitarist, a passable singer and an hilarious stand up comedian. I have to confess that the intro is a bit of an acquired taste with its fake countrified accents et al but soon we are into some finely crafted guitar-based Beatles influenced pop music. There are only 7 songs but enough to give you a flavour of what Roo is all about. I particularly like the title track and "You're Driving Way Too Fast" which again showcases Roo's rich sense of humour. An interesting and fun debut.
