I liked this album on many levels, the first and main one being London-based Lynnvee's rich, contralto voice. The lyrics pull no punches and speak of reassurance ("You're Special To Jesus") and encouragement to worship God and get real in your life. Many of these songs are very catchy. My favourites include "Restored" with its laid-back reggae sound, "God Is Here" where Lynnvee delivers a gorgeous jazz-based vocal line, and "Rejoicing", because I hear real worship in this simple chorus. Lynnvee has got hold of a Clapton-loving guitarist: take a listen to "God Is Here" or "Destiny". She has a strong voice with a bluesy edge and she can either sing out, like in "Hallelujah", or hold back like in "Agape", letting us feel the reined-in power. A pretty impressive debut.
