There's a lot to like about this album - Rosen's husky but clear vocals, the fine music - guitar and keyboard especially, melodic tunes with a sharp edge, with plenty of variety of styles - from reggae to Celtic rock. The lyrics could be stronger but are sung with passion and seldom fall into the generic CCM mould. "Red Sky Morning" opens the album with a warning about the state of the world, while "Ploughman" gives a new twist to the parables about sowing seeds - here's a ploughman "in the fast lane" impatient to spread the Good News. "Waiting For Abraham" lays down a Stevie Wonder-style groove while Rosen's vocals remind me of Mark Knopfler. "Halle Halle" is probably the most upbeat song and the closest to praise and worship. "Rise Up" is one of the heavier tracks with some effective female backing vocals, while "Sit Down" is a soft ballad, with God telling us that he's got wonderful things prepared for us. Finally, "Chateauguay" is a spiritual song to which you might find yourself dancing to the Celtic rhythms.
