Released as part of Word's 25th anniversary, this compilation presumably seeks to cover the range and development of Salvation Army music over that time. Sadly, it's a long way wide of the mark. It's almost entirely made up of hymns and songs from Salvationist stage musicals. It pays little attention to the true diversity of styles that exist within the movement. The choice of songs from the musicals highlights the problem here - the musicals contain some wonderful songs, but they do not appear on this album. A thoroughly drab collection.
