Sandi received a great deal of criticism over the past few years about the inconsistencies between her public image and private life. But now happily and newly married (and slimmed down!), the award-winning queen of gospel MOR has come back with a strong new album. Her particular brand of inspirational music is still a very American musical experience and certainly not to every taste but here the lush arrangements are a little less overblown than previous offerings and therefore a little more appealing. As you'd imagine, after the struggle of a very public marriage break up and divorce, the songs are very much concerned with love, mercy and grace. The title song is a prayer for God to mould her life; "Breathe On Me" is destined to be the best known here because it's on the WOW "98 compilation but isn't necessarily the best cut here. The poppy gospel flavourings of "You Alone" and the gentle wonder of "Speechless" are high points. Overall, definitely inspiring, well produced with some excellent songs and if you like your pop music easy on the ear, this is for you.

The first time that I heard about this cd was on tv. Sandi
performed a song live with just a piano;the song was "Set Me
Free". I luv "Breathe on Me" and Artist of my Soul", I
really connect with these 2. The songs on this cd are
crafted beautifully; esp. "The Birds Still Dance". This cd
tops a lot of her older recordings, and you do not hear the
opera style singing: and I don't believe it would fit any of
the songs. Sandi sings these songs so beautifully,as they
were intended to be sung. GOD Bless! -Don
