Sandi proved with "I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers in My Hair)" that she could write a catchy tune. From the opening track "The Devil's Beat" it is apparent that she has not lost her touch. The songwriting is good and the arrangements and production help lift them even higher. From "Wounded Heart" looking at how past hurts cause problems now to "I'm A Human Being" investigating the uniqueness of being human the songs cover a range of topics with a generally upbeat approach. Her Scottish roots come through in the Celtic-tinged "Success Ladder" and "They Don't Make Mirrors Like They Used To". With a layered complex sound rich with strings and percussion and a strong voice, Sandi and her collaborators have created and album that will have feet tapping for years to come.
