Selena Blum's debut album, with just eight tracks, clearly heralds the start of a promising ministry. This lady has SERIOUS vocal chops with more than a touch of soul in her Crystal Lewis-style material. There are a variety of styles on the album from pop to a jazzy feel for the last track, "Turn Your Eyes On Jesus". Selena certainly is talented - she has been compared to Mariah Carey and I thought she sounded like Sam Brown on the first tracks. I have listened to this CD in the car, while working at home and while relaxing. I was excited the first time I heard it and do not grow tired of listening to it. The title track is particularly strong and I also found "You've Got The Power Lord" stood out from the others. Selena wants to "share her message of a real Saviour in a real world" and says, "I want people to know that I don't have all the answers, and I'm struggling through this life just like everybody else. I just want to encourage people and let them know that I serve a God who does have all the answers." I say that her debut album certainly does that and is well worth searching out.
