In Northern soul circles and amongst Mojo readers who still remember the pioneering soul/rock fusion band Rotary Connection, Sidney is a legend. So it's great to report that Sidney's golden vocal chords are still intact and, even better, here he demonstrates his Christian faith with four gospel songs. The "I Have My Faith" opener is a mid-tempo shuffler with some tasty organ while "Take My Breath Away" is slower and soulfully moody. Sidney is a soul man who doesn't rasp and scream but caresses a melody with smooth and mellow understatement. Soul connoisseurs searching for liquidly emotive voices will be surfing the net to find this four-song gospel gem.
