A book and CD packaged together. The book, subtitled Reflections For Life’s Journey, was written and compiled by Liz Babbs and endeavours to bring the reader spiritual sustenance and food for thought with meditations, quotations, prayers and poetry, not to mention some striking colour photography of windswept shores and craggy hills. In truth, there are better meditative compilations than this one out there while one could question the “Celtic” authenticity when such non-Celtic personages as Julian Of Norwich and Richard Foster are quoted but we’ll let that pass, particularly as the accompanying CD by woodwind maestro Simeon Wood offers some of his most hauntingly reflective music heard for years. In its own way quietly inspiring.
