Nothing fills a CD faster than a bunch of remixes. Thankfully the CD is fast becoming the DJ's weapon of choice, thanks to light fingered airport luggage handlers around the world taking people's 12"s, so the more on a CD the better. Demulcent have a stable of remixers that they promote with every release and Siminz's 'FOAC' EP is no exception, to the point where the producers are even in the same order as Noah DeSmit's 'I See Grace' remix CD! Having said that, some of the remixes are top notch and the CD itself gives way to some bonus tracks at the end for those listening domestically. Standouts for me are the "Robonaut" remix which is a real teeth crunching analogue stomper of a mix, and the second bonus track "Day Break", which captures it's name effortlessly with it's deep throbbing arpeggio underpinning. Dutch producer Tresice's remix is also worth a mention with its subtle morph from deep house beginning to full throttle trance number. Representing Canada, Joel Armstrong's mix has a good liquid industrial edge to it, to which rising star Spindrift's minimal style contrasts nicely. Look out for an unmentioned third bonus number by the way. Staple female vox sample but it fits the track nonetheless.
