First, on the positive side, it's good to see music that is aimed at children being produced on CD. It's about time others did this as well - notably the Spring Harvest 'Kids Praise' series, which is still only available on cassette. Back to the task in hand - both of these reminded me of the Maranatha! Music 'Sunday School Sing-A-Long' from a few years ago. In an almost identical style, with well produced arrangements played immaculately - although sounding very clinical and soulless to my ears. 'Sing Shout Clap' is presented in split trax so that you can sing along with or without the vocal accompaniment. The virtue of the Maranatha! Music offering of years ago was that it used tried and tested standards and even if you didn't like the production, the songs had stood the test of time. The problem with this album is that the quality of the material just doesn't stand up.
