It's a shame that it's taken so long for this Scottish band to release their second album after Tony Cummings warm review in early 2000. The long wait has unfortunately been due to lack of finance. So I'm pleased to report the wait has been worth it. 'Ragged Faith' sees Sons Of Thunder offering biographical songs that have conversational style lyrics, good musicianship and sensitive arrangements. Once again Sons Of Thunder have turned to producer Graeme Duffin (Wet Wet Wet) although this time round they share production credits with him. Lead singer Stewart Moffat's vocals are again the perfect companion to the rock/pop/Celtic style of music from the outfit. "Here I Am" sees a bit of a departure from the rest of the album with the piano-led ballad handing the vocals over to Jude Pexton. The song is a real tranquil gem and the harmonies, all by Jude, are captivating. 'Ragged Faith' is another solid outing and deserves plenty of success. Let's hope that the release of this album sees Sons Of Thunder doing what they do best, bringing great music to people.
