Survivor Records have done it once again! Hot on the heels of 1997's superb volume 1, Soul Survivors second attempt at presenting fresh contempry worship songs to the church, courtesy of relatively unknown young composers, provides the listener with a number of great new compositions which thankfully challenge pre-concived notions of how praise and worship should sound. Featuring the likes of John Ellis (Tree), Cathy Burton (Bluberry), James Gregory (Heat), Martin Smith and Matt Redman on vocals, complete with Christ-centred lyrics, 'The Peoples Album 2' is full of fine musicianship that adequately provide the mode and tone of each piece; whether they be songs of thanksgiving ('Thank You For The Blood'), worship ('Father God'), dedication ('True Surrender') or contemplation('Praises'). Though not quite on a par with it's predecessor, this second album is never the less a fine album of contempry songs that seek to give glory back to God
