Here is another British band attempting to take worship to the streets, by making music centred on God and accessible to a wider range of people. Here is a band that is keen to “shout” out about God and are not ashamed. The live act of Splint would no doubt be worth catching a glimpse of, with their simple but effective use of guitar, bass and rums. Another strength is their use of vocal harmonies which soar through many of the tracks. Although the recording is pretty raw and probably made on a tight budget, the vocal melodies really shine through, creating some good songs. Tracks that stand out are the funky grooves of “Moody” which almost has a Crowded House feel to it in the chorus. “Living The Life” poses a challenging message of having a “loud voice for Him”. Quite a good album, covering some challenging issues focusing on God, although musically it suffers from being a little weak on some occasions. If you like a raw feel to your music you could check out Splint.
