Look, I really like comedy, but I'm afraid that this left me cold. I could be put into the bag of people who veer towards ministry rather than entertainment, but apart from occasional references to his faith (which I sincerely believe the guy possesses) this is not the tape I'd pick to warm anyone to Christians, let alone to Christ. The album takes its title from a reference towards a notice Mr 'G' spotted outside a kinder-garden which read. . ."Slow Children Playing." He thought it was a shame. . .but somebody usually gives them jobs later in life, hence (presumably) Slow Men etc etc "Take yourselves less seriously" he exhorts "we're only spit and dust." I think most Christians, especially the casualties, believe this anyway, the difficulty is trying to inculcate a sense of personal value. "Comedy in progress" reads the cover: despite the maze puzzle on the sleeve it still needs to progress much more for me.

Steve Geyer's "Slow Men Working" was incredible. I grew up on the tape, wore it out, and am mad that I can't find the CD. It's observational humor with a sense of faith. Steve's timing and analogies make this very funny. It's not cheese, and it's not overly serious. If you listened to the "dirt and spit" comment, he also talked about taking his faith very seriously. I'm sure you really like comedy...but based on your comments, you don't like smart comedy. I'm sure you think Carrot Top is hilarious, but please, leave Steve Geyer alone, I think it's just over your head.
