A live concert set from, to my knowledge, Australia's finest Christian artist, following up his outstanding debut album of a while back. This guy's got the goods. Controlled aggression, rootsy validity, proven quality songwriting credentials, all topped up with potent communication skills. The concert atmosphere bubbles from the first track, the recording quality's spot on, and there's real excitement as the Dylan-esque vocals sizzle in hammered home by pounding rock sounds. This song "Land Of The Rock" introduces the eloquent lead guitar skills of Phil Yates. Much of what's on offer is typically Aussie rock, gritty, earthy, very real and very addictive (if such a word doesn't confirm too many critics' fears!). Steve can't half write 'em you know. Songs like "Stand Your Ground" really pester the brain with its lovely touch of acoustic country/rock, and tight harmony vocals. Great songs abound on this memorable set, combining insights into human frailty with total conviction of the gospel's validity.
