Having been fairly quiet on the album front for a good three years, with only 'The Abbey Road Sessions,' a Christmas release and 'Now And Then' (a greatest hits offering), Steven Curtis Chapman is well and truly back. From the congregational "Yours" to the commercial radio friendly "Cinderella," this latest musical offering sits more comfortably than ever on the interface between thoughtful worship and cutting edge pop. Being an artist who has always known what works for him, this album is more of the same, but slicker and more polished than ever. His songs tick every box; the catchy guitar-led "With One Voice," with the help of Matt Redman, has tapped into the very sound of contemporary worship and in "One Heartbeat At A Time" he delicately opens up about his experiences of parenthood which should have mothers and nostalgic grandmothers everywhere reaching for their hankies. It is this ability to capture his real-life experiences in his lyrics that will keep the fans happy and even though this is Curtis Chapman's 18th release, his extensive songwriting experience in a time where new bands are popping up all over the place, makes this a solid and refreshing offering.
