The gloriously named "Dirt Worm Ninja" begins with a dub reggae groove but elsewhere its alt rock rhythms and an expressive vocalist with a good line in mannered disdane. I particularly liked the opener "Unshaken" with a lyric which (I think) is about God's unshakeability. Some of the tracks are a little stripped down and could go with a fuller production sound, but with intriguing, if at times obscure, lyric writing keeping you listening. And the song "Motown" has an on-the-fours beat and a great hook, "Motown brings it all back to you." Doesn't it indeed.
