A selection of hymns and choruses have been arranged by Stuart Townend for piano with accompaniment or solo. The arrangements are superb, with a large uncluttered feel. Solos are sophisticated, understated and in combination with the piano produce a beautiful aural landscape. After listening to the album several times I feel as though the selection of songs wouldn't matter, as any would sound superb in this setting. The label of 'classical' is slightly misleading as the choruses featured are treated to a contemporary interpretation, reminiscent of Bruce Hornsby and lona. The hymns, however, are very much in more classical mould, with organ and strings giving them a rich and majestic air. The aim of the album is as an aid to personal prayer and meditation, drawing the listener closer to God. Bible verses are provided with each track for this purpose. The sleeve notes also suggest that the album could be used as a backdrop to ministry times within church services, freeing the musicians for ministry. Used as part of a prayer session the album was very well received, comments indicating that it contributed a peaceful element to the atmosphere.
