Relaxed Californian rock from this female-fronted four-piece. A bit REM, a bit Counting Crows, even a touch Cranberries (although distinctly less Irish!). Cool, choppy riffs and carefully understated lead work from Lewis Richley and Jeff Elbel underlying Suki Chaney's mellow vocal delivery. Intelligent lyrics deal with emotional and spiritual matters in an uncliched fashion. Bizarrely, all the tracks have single syllable titles such as "Cross", "Blue" or "Dig". The bass chair is filled for the most part by Steve Oberg, a job he does very well indeed and the band would do well to hire him on a more permanent basis. A bevy of natty little instrumental interludes and hidden tracks serve to spice up this already tasteful dish.
