This is cool! A collection of 13 great tracks from a fairly new US three piece, Numb feeds the ears with more than a few morsels of alternative pop/rock that somehow turn your armchair into a five-piece drum kit! That's if you can stay seated!! The menu kicks off with a hefty slice or two of dc Talk pizza in the shape of the two opening tracks "Numb" and "Goodness" and then offers up a portion of what seems to be the main course and make this band standout from the crowd. Big guitars and tight, up front vocals encased in grown up pop tracks with a light coating of studio production magic; kind of like the best mixed steak grill you ever had! Sycamore then decide it's time for the desert with a return to their roots as a worship band with the best offering (for my lunch money) being "Truth In Eternity", a reminder of just how much God cares for us. Then, it's coffee over with and on to the floor for a touch of moshing (or, if you're English, standing around really wanting to have the guts to mosh but just looking like a melon!) with tracks like "Higher" and "One Thing". Yep, I like this album; dirt, charm, guts, panache and an unerring feeling like they are just having a large amount of fun doing their thing. Thanks chaps! Oh, and by the way, cool website... www.sycamoreband.com
