This is a collection of personal songs from a New York-based singer which reveal part of her own testimony, of how God changed her life, but also reflect the struggles all Christians face from time to time. This is very evident in the opening track "When You Hear The Thunder" as the artist describes facing tough times when she first became a Christian and how we must turn to prayer in these times. The song has a traditional blues feel, with a strong bass guitar riff throughout, and is one of the better tracks on the album, as is the piano-led "For The Lord". A few songs try to be more upbeat and pop music like in style, which has mixed results. One such song "What Was I Thinking" incorporates a fast drum loop and urban vibe but doesn't really come off. "All Roads Lead To The Lord" does a better job of being more upbeat, but the album really is at its best when it sticks to a timeless gospel blues approach. The last three tracks on the album are acapella which tends to leave it feeling a little unfinished.
