They're two of Nashville's hottest musos, you'll find their names on albums by the likes of Victoria Williams, Lone Justice and Julie Miller and now they've got together to produce a cracker of a roots album. Mr Heffington is not a violent man, but he does seem to hit a lot of things (all the percussion is his department) whilst the lovely Miss Rogers makes that old fiddle talk (she also manages some fine mandolin work and quite stunning vocals). The album is basically an authentic American folk album, borrowing its deeper roots from a Celtic tradition. Stand out tracks are "Rest In The Arms Of Angels" which reads almost like a child's simple prayer and the wonderful "Psalms" (covered by Victoria Williams on 'Loose') sung by Heffington in a way that would almost certainly get him a free pint of Guinness in any Dublin pub on a Saturday night. Simple in the best way, yet fine intricate musicianship displayed at every level. Go for it.
