Tammy Trents debut for Sparrow is, according to her biography, a reflection of Tammy herself, full of light, energy and contagious enthusiasm. Rather than this being a marketing hype this infectious pop album does reflect those characteristics She is truthful in her message, the album, although a mixture of pop rock, R&B and pure pop, clearly shows her energy and enthusiasm. Her early influence of Amy Grant, which Tammy was exposed to at the tender age of nine, is clearly shown in the opening track My Irreplaceable. Certainly much of this album would be at home on secular radio stations. If You Need Love has all the bite and slickness of a Britney track. Slower tracks like Without You don t lose out in the quality stakes either. Sparrow havent cut any corners with Tammy s album, hiring a total of five producers to work on different tracks which leads to my only quibble with the album in that it has too many different feels injected by so many producers, leaving it with a lack of cohesion.
