Having moved from the south-west to London to pursue their music career, Tenth Electric are a three-piece band producing a fusion of rock and dance on this four-track EP. This record has a strong focus on the subject of mental health, seeking to break down the taboos that surround it and to bring a message of hope to those that are suffering with their mental health. Musically, it is difficult to nail down a comparison to any one band as they draw on influences from across the spectrum of rock from the heavy riffing of Muse to the pop and dance influences of the likes of Imagine Dragons. "Remedy" kicks off the record with a passionate declaration of personal experiences struggling with mental health and the sense of desperation and hopelessness that can be felt ("I pray to God for mercy but I fear that he deserts me"). The record then takes you on a journey of discovery of the hope there is and that you are not alone. "Turn A Light On" is a perfect example of the band's ability to fuse dance-influenced pads and beats in the verse with thick slabs of rock through distorted guitar in the anthemic chorus declaring "You've got to love yourself/You can save yourself". "Just Breathe" is the most rock-heavy track with a driving beat and heavy riffs with strings layered over the top to add to the soaring anthemic sound. The record closes with the pulsing synths of "Brighter" providing another big chorus providing a positive message of hope and that whatever struggles we face, there is a brighter day to come. The message is powerfully conveyed and the narrative from start to finish flows so well supported by powerful vocals and tight musicianship with a sound that feels familiar yet not quite like anyone else.
