Although in the midst of a highly successful acting career both on screen and on stage this multi-talented artist has also managed to release a very well produced EP using his extensive vocal and songwriting abilities. Upon hearing Terron's voice it's no surprise that Mr Brooks has starred in such prestigious Broadway roles as Simba in The Lion King and Seaweed in Hairspray as well as being involved in several film and TV soundtracks. This particular project however showcases not only a tremendous voice but a powerful uplifting message, including gratefulness in "Down", God's love and redemption in "Life Story" and laying down our burdens in "Higher Ground". Brooks also combines his smooth, soulful style, reminiscent of Toni Braxton, with a super clean R&B sound alongside catchy melodies; ensuring that this music will have almost universal appeal. There can be no doubt that this is an extremely well produced project, with great musicality and superb mixing, however one can't help but feel like this is a record from the late '90s. Please be assured that this fact takes nothing away from the appeal and power of this music, it simply detracts a minute measure of its freshness. But all in all there is great musical variety shown here coupled with uplifting lyrics and Terron's world-class voice.
