Since the late '90s Colorado Springs-based Terry has produced 12 albums with sales topping one million, so this guy has plenty of experience. 'The Glory Of His Presence' is a collection of 10 tracks taken from five of his previously released live worship recordings. Aided by his frequent appearances on US Christian TV, these worship events are big and packed with thousands of worshippers from across the USA, and you can get more than just a taste of the scale of things from the recordings. From the beginning, "You Deserve The Glory" kicks off in grand style with lots of flamboyant piano flourishes in a style reminiscent of Liberace, where you can imagine the massed crowds swaying with candles waving in the air. All very nice but for me there's an overwhelming sense of performance as opposed to worship, which is what the album is billed as; this gets very tiresome after a while. The majority of the following tracks like "We Glorify The Lamb" and " I Came To Worship You" continue the theme with little light relief coming from more recent tracks such as "You're My Glory". Terry is obviously highly gifted, but his style is way too heavy on theatrical embellishments for most Brits.
