Reviewed by Paul Woodward A new release from the 29th Chapter is due shortly, but for those who cant wait, this special edition of their 'History' EP will keep them more than occupied. With six extra bonus tracks, this edition is of full LP length, and the new tracks are just as good, or possibly even better, than the original 10 tracks on the album. In particular the mighty "Sin Haters" and "Born Again Believers" from their early days when the band were known as Acts 29, and the drum 'n' bass remix of the latter is a real treat of a party tune. As of January 2004 the 29th Chapter crew took the brave step of going full time, hopefully this will allow this magnificent recording to be heard by more people. From the outset 'History' is an urban gem of an album. Anyone wanting to get into Christian hip-hop, but doesn't know where to start amongst the shipload of American releases, would do well to start here, on our own shores! As one of only a handful of UK Christian rap artists, they carry the flag for British hip-hop in style, proudly using their own cockney slang, rather attempting to emulate their US counterparts. Despite their street friendly style the group also host a clear heart for evangelism. The 29th Chapter deserve to be huge, if only UK Christian hip-hop would get the backing it deserves by the Christian media as a whole.
