Canada's the Abrams brothers have unexpectedly built up a sizeable following in the UK and make regular appearances at the Big Church Day Out. Their music is Americana which, with their blend of James' banjo (and on "Spend Your Life with Me", fiddle), and some solid drums (from producer Gavin Brown) and electric guitar (Joey Martel), offer a sound not dissimilar to another Christian Americana group, Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors. What Jon and James don't have though, at least on this six-song EP, is material which, compared to the best of Holcomb's work, is truly memorable. Although the bouncy opener "Champion" and the wistful "Miracles" are engaging enough, none of these warm-hearted love songs suggest the brothers will soon be expanding their fan base.
