I put this in the CD player. My girlfriend and I stared at each other. Maybe this was a time warp and we'd been somehow caught in it? Maybe it's ironic? Nope, the next track was definitely the same band and style as was the next, etc. "Don't they realise the ‘60s are long gone?" my girlfriend asked. ‘Never Felt This Way Before’ is MOR/beancurd rock, from the nerd rock genre - if there is such a thing. The production is poor and flat, which also sounds three decades old. I visited their website. Had I missed something? Was it just a taste thing? Well, they appear to have a decent sized following, although I couldn't tell you what sort. I imagine Emmerdale has one too. They have supported The Violet Burning though, and they're a band I seriously rate and respect. So, I think I have to put it largely down to taste. But I also have to say that this album did absolutely nothing for me... personally.
