The Ambassador has already made his impact on the hip hop scene through his work with the incredible Cross Movement team. Here he goes solo, drops some weighty tunes and leaves plenty of rhymes buzzing around my head! Totally focussed on Christ, this is meaty stuff as The Ambassador unfolds a variety of views on the Christian life in an uncompromising fashion. Highlights include "Hold Your Ground" with its call to persevere and "Loophole" is a panoramic examination of the human condition offering a loophole to the never ending sad story of "you're born, you suffer and you die." "I Love You Jesus" is sweet soul devotion and "Girl Named World" personifies the tug of the world in Proverbs-style rhymes and plots the escape from an inappropriate relationship. Overall, after enjoying the creativity of The Cross Movement, this solo outing is a little disappointing by comparison and though The Ambassador is skilful in his writing and passionate with the message, there's a spark missing from this set. It's good but it's not great!
