The Dusk Run released this intriguing five-song EP in 2014. As they now have a new release out, review of this is long overdue. The main man of the aggregation is Peter Caisley, who as well as being the writer of all the words and music, sings, produces and plays guitars, bass, drums and keys. The mid-tempo opener "One Twenty-One" is decidedly catchy with trumpeter Phil Sheard providing the hook with a riff you'll remember. Other tracks like "Join" and the slow and moody "Lead The Way" are good too and although Peter's wheezy voice is more distinctive and attractive, such is the tight and accomplished musicianship and inventive arrangements that one can't help but be impressed by the prowess of these alt rock/art pop exponents from Northumbria.
