The Goads are brothers Rick, Curt and Tim joined by their youngest sister Carolyn on lead vocals. The family is noted in the USA for Goad International Ministries, which has distributed nearly $45 million in food, clothing and medicine worldwide, and more than seven million Bibles in over 30 countries. Their JAM (Jesus And Me) street ministry reaches out to over 10,000 youth and their families annually. No wonder they have only released three previous albums since 1987! Their signature style has been their smooth vocal arrangements. ‘Red Letter Day’ reinvents The Goads as a classy dance pop band, adding some contemporary sounding R&B and Latin elements. Shades of Crystal Lewis, Rachael Lampa and a few others besides – maybe it’s a bit derivative and clichéd, but these guys clearly know what they’re doing and deliver an album which is both inspirational and great to listen to. As Carolyn puts it, "I think you'll find that our music is who we are. It's full of passion and a lot of energy. But we're also very serious about what God's called us to do and about our relationship with Christ." Which is fine with me!
