The Hoppers have been an institution in Southern gospel for many years and this new CD finds three generations on a supposedly live album, but actually all the tracks are studio recordings. There is some banter between some of the tracks but I would certainly not class it as a live recording. I always think of this group as the "happy" Hoppers as when I have seen them on various other DVDs and videos they always have smiles on their faces, and daughter-in-law Kim Hopper has a very powerful singing voice. The album kicks off in a lively fashion with "Holy Ghost Wind" and several other newish songs of which I particularly enjoyed "Ready To Leave" and "On My Journey Home" and reaches a climax with a moving rendition of the much loved hymn "It Is Well With My Soul" and the very popular "Jerusalem". Musically the album straddles country and easy listening, the harmonies are very good and the whole album will connect with fans of the group.
