The Ineloquent are a US folk-tinged trio of nomadic musicians who have journeyed far and wide with their intriguing blend of art pop and Coldplay-style pop rock. Centre point of their music is frontwoman Georgiana Eakins who has been compared to vocalists Ellie Goulding and Regina Spektor. 'E Is For Emergency' is predominately a collection of ethereal pop songs with some numbers featuring just Georgiana's voice and a synth pad while others, like "Fear", offer a wonderful cello line under the dreamy duet with Georgi's husband Daniel and an arrangement that complements but never swamps the voices. The styles mix up wonderfully, with a full on rock romp in "The Hero Is Here" to the electronic trance feel of "I Have Come For You" and the piano-led Romanian song "CA O Frunza" - which means like a leaf. The production and arrangement is excellent and the result is a top class album full of interest an quirks that reveal themselves after listening several times. Well worth getting hold of.
