Despite its very fast paced opening track "Hallelujah Turnpike", for much of the album the pace is considerably slower, giving ample time to enjoy the rich harmonies of the group and the fine leads of sisters Becky and Sonya. Many of the tracks deal with very deep and personal life issues such as suffering and bereavement, for example "I Still Trust You" and "I'm Gonna Love You Through It". More upbeat songs are "Four Men Walkin' Around" and "Get On Board". The backing throughout is mainly acoustic with some bluegrass type accompaniment, however I would not classify this as a bluegrass album as such, but a very good release in the country gospel mode. The only track I was familiar with is the last song "I Believe In A Hill Called Mount Calvary", which the Isaacs performed very movingly on a Gaither DVD. Even if country music is not your preference, 'Why Can't We' is sure to lift your soul.
