Southern gospel 'quartets' can have as few as three members but eight chaps form the Southern gospel veterans the Kingsmen. Their latest release, 'Shelter', reflects their high standard and tight harmonies. After all, harmony is central to Southern gospel. They work their way through a mixture of songs with varying tempos; one of them, 'Meet Me Up In Heaven One Day', is possibly the fastest tune I've heard. 'Im Gonna Rise' comes a close second for speed. The writers sound like a Who's Who of Southern gospel music and the lyrics consistently give hope and encouragement. The next time you're down, put this CD on and have your spirit lifted and your 'sure and certain hope' confirmed. Personally, I would have liked to have heard more of each individual member's talent but it is certainly worth adding to your collection.
