This release is the debut album from a new British worship aggregation, built around singer/songwriter Dave Bell, which presents a fresh take on live worship. It was recorded at New Life Church Lincoln, on 1st February. Once a few tracks in, you think you know and understand the vibe and feel of the album - a typical Brit worship sound. However, listening a little longer brings the listener to tracks such as "Arise" and "City On A Hill", featuring long, powerful and fast paced raps provided by SC Breaker, introducing a whole new feel to the album. 'Freedom Calls' is an odd yet refreshing combination of genres and styles, featuring saxophones, rapping and acoustic guitars, meaning this album has something for everyone. The guitar riffs and stunning playing shown in tracks such as "Where I Belong" and "When Revival Breaks" demonstrate the craft and talent of all the members of the aggregation, some of whom were previously in rock pop band [dweeb]. The repetitive lyrics of tracks such as "Our God Is Good" and the title track help create an anthem-like feel. However, the more repetitive tracks don't have the same levels of intimacy as conveyed in tracks like "Healing Is On It's Way", which speaks of the testimony of the band's frontman. The biblical references in tracks like "Kingdom Come" and "City On A Hill" emphasize Bell's heart for the Word of God. 'Freedom Calls' boasts beautiful lyrics, singing and melodies. It gives more than the stereotypical approach to modern worship music, enabling the listener to experience a new style of praise.
