This CD, by an Atlanta, Georgia band, didn't start too well - it just sounded so much like others I'd heard recently. But then it got better. The guitars, which drive the project along, are meaty, powerful and well played while Ben Richter's vocals are good too, clear without being overpowering, with a slightly drawled/rough edge to them. The duet on "I Am Yours" with Mary Grace Kimsey is particularly strong. The main problems is that some of the songs tread familiar territory. The choruses tend towards the anthemic ("Radiance", "The Call" and "No End" could almost become worship songs sung across the globe - although I can't see many music groups doing them as well as they are here). If I had to compare this CD to anything, I'd say that it's vaguely Delirious?, a bit Nickelback, slightly Fall Out Boy (but not as manic), reminiscent of Ruis/Smith/Leaf/Janzen, essence of Snow Patrol (especially some of the guitar work). Overall it's pretty listenable.
