Sub-titled 'Gospel Favorites', this album feels like a labour of love from start to finish. Produced by Ben Isaacs, the Oaks launch into some very strong material such as the opener "Lead Me To That Rock", and really breathe new life into such chestnuts as "Standing In The Need Of Prayer" and "River Of Jordan". The backing musicians include such luminaries as Gordon Mote on piano, Aubrey Haynie on fiddle and mandolin, Bryan Sutton and Kevin Williams on acoustic guitar and with Joe Bonsall's banjo picking 'Back Home Again' has a deft back porch vibe. If I had to pick a favourite, it would be the Boys' very fine version of the Dolly Parton classic "Coat Of Many Colors". All in all, one of the best albums the Oaks have delivered in years.
