If you're a little lacking in your Southern gospel history, let me explain that this release marks the return home to some of the genre's most beloved sons. Back in the 70s the Boys departed Southern gospel for the more lucrative pastures of secular country music. Now this set of songs of faith, largely golden oldies like the romping "Workin' On A Building", clearly show their rich, harmonic, roots. If your only exposure to SG's rich heritage is the theatric excess of Gaither, these joyful songs, beautifully produced by Michael Sykes, will be a revelation.
