The Oh Hellos from Texas, consisting of siblings Maggie and Tyler Heath, draw their influences from the likes of the Fleet Foxes and Sufjan Stevens, but what distinguishes this duo is the subject matter. 'Dear Wormwood' follows previous releases such as the outstanding seasonal album 'The Oh Hellos Christmas Album' and their first EP in 2011. This album is a collection of songs inspired in part by C S Lewis' Screwtape Letters and Patrick Rothfuss' The Name Of The Wind. The result is both intriguing and thought provoking! The wistful harmonies remain, "Ceaser" is simply beautiful in its simplicity, while the title track and "Bitter Water" could easily have the same chart success the Fleet Foxes enjoyed. This is an album that will continually deliver with each listen.
