This four-piece indie band have that traditional raw edged English/Irish folk sound that has resurfaced in recent years. The four songs on this tape have a solid guitar/bass/drums foundation whilst the mandolin gently tickles your eardrums and the fiddle weaves an intricate tapestry throughout, occasionally pausing to poke you sharply in the eyeball! The title track is a roll call of the band's heroes, but I get the impression that it's not to be taken too seriously, something similar to the old Skids number "TV Stars" (I bet none of you remember that one). "The Girl Who Never Phoned" is a jolly little jig exploring the all too familiar territory of that time when you met a girl at a party who you really fancied and who promised to get in touch but never did. All in all this, their third independent release is a tasty little tape from these promising Brummies.
