The Remnants started in Alabama in 1997. After several years of playing locally, they went on their first tour in the summer of 2000. After a year of touring, recording 'Nobody Home' (2002) and running a makeshift church in their house, the band decided it was time for a move. They ended up living at Jesus People USA, the famed community in inner city Chicago well known as the Resurrection Band's homebase. Since the move The Remnants have released the full length 'Songs From The Hell Hole' (2004), toured across the United States and recorded this album in 2006. Their style is shouty punk anthems like The Clash and The Ramones, but also incorporating the working-class street punk "Oi!" subculture such as Sham 69 and Cock Sparrer. The songs have a simple, but effective, musical structure and usually tell stories based in truth. Besides the predominantly fast paced songs, there is a ballad in the form of "I've Been Beat". And the band do manage to sound like a bunch of pirates on the rampage in "Davy Jones Locker".
