Few things are more musically irritating than plastic imitation, watered-down blues. The raw, tense, authentic sound of the great black heavyweight masters is sorely missed when absent. The Dutch trio's style of blues is a whimpy, lightweight, jazz-flavoured brand, that in places owes more to the Stray Cats type of music than anything heard in a Chicago ghetto or Mississippi log cabin. They try hard, but as soon as they start out with two Sister Rosetta Tharpe gems, "Strange Things" and "Go Ahead", you long for the good lady herself to come and roar all over you. Competent musicians, but please, leave our blues alone and head for pop-jazz territory.
