This acoustic worship all girl trio from Colorado have been together as a band for nearly six years, travelling the United States and Europe. After returning from Devon's Creation Festival 2005 they have launched their second album 'Alive In You'. The record begins with the upbeat and catchy title track. The song is a declaration of thanks to God for who he is and takes its inspiration from Ezekiel 16: 4-14. Another highlight is "Move Me", which is a cry for God's Spirit to be present and move in radical ways. Unfortunately, the album begins to decline half way through as it flat lines into songs with no diversity or dynamic. Musically the album needs more depth and creativity. The painful truth is that there are too many bands that sound like this. Consequently, this album nevermoves much beyond the merely competent.

The inspiration from the band name comes from the way the Sunflower takes the form of the sun in its shape and colour and will tilt its head towards the sun. In the same way, a Sonflower follows the Son of God and desires to be like Him. As children of God, we are valuable and made in His image and called to follow Christ daily.
The Sonflowerz is a ministry to people of all ages desiring to see God change lives by the power of his presence and do this by travelling across Europe and the U.S. bringing worship to the world.

I do not agree with the main review for this wonderful album. I feel that the Sonflowerz are actually one of the best acoustic worship groups around today. I for one love this second album. I love albums that rely more on quality than quantity, but here is an album with both. I have been inspired by the songs on this record. Clay and From The Darkness are too such brilliant songs on wanting to be used for the Lord's work and saying goodbye to the night. This album is packed with wonderful little tunes that are very rare these days. This is not the best produced album ive ever heard, but it is one of the most moving ones i can tell you. This album is a real gem actually. Elissa Leander kinows how to write decent stuff I can tell you. A 10/10 from me i can say without a doubt. This record is packed with Jesus!

I was most impressed with the diversity and originality of this second album by The Sonflowerz. I would actually give it 10 squares for it's unique modern worship sounds, and really mature, honest lyrics. Their first CD got 9 squares, and that's why I thought this new one rated a 10 for the band's growth in their own style. It seems less commercial, more diverse, and yet more radio-friendly at the same time. Highly recommended.
