After the passing of Rev Milton Brunson into glory in 1997 the Thompson Community Singers have trimmed their name to The Tommies and are now under the direction of Rev Brunson's wife, Jo Ann Brunson. This album has a solid mix of uplifting movers and some expressive gospel tunes. By delivering several urban, studio sounds on this disc, The Tommies remain true to their founder's vision of pushing the envelope of choir innovation while remaining rooted in the historical mass choir The Tommies sound. To pick a couple of tracks out for comment is difficult, but Billy Avery adds a McClurkin vocal feel to the mid tempo ringing praise on "My God And My King" as the simple lyrics move from English to French to Spanish. "No One Like You" is a Percy Brady choir arrangement that is beautiful in its ease and flow. This is a well produced album that will not disappoint the mass choir fans who like it funky.
