If I tell you singer/songwriter Therman plays acoustic guitar and that is about all you get by way of accompaniment on this self-financed tape, you'll probably not be too interested in investigating further. The info that Therman is a member of a Baptist church in Banbury is unlikely to fill you with expectation either. What about that Mr Russell is black and hails originally from Philadelphia? Little bit intrigued? If I add that Therman has a voice with the rich, soulful texture of a Luther Van dross and writes songs which, with some incisive imagery and intriguing changes, falls into no obviously stylistic stereotypes you should at least note the name. Those adventurous souls who go further and send for the tape wont be disappointed. Despite the need for a producer and a recording budget, this is a new singer/songwriter with a load of talent.
