This is the debut release from the Michigan-based singer/songwriter who is described as a Catholic Christian recording artist and this is borne out throughout the album in various references to Mary, the mother of our Lord, the divine Heart of Jesus and prayers to the saints. Thomas Jude has a clear, well pronounced singing style not unlike John Michael Talbot or Michael Card and has produced an album packed with lyrical content as you might expect from someone studying for a masters in theology. The track "Yasu'ah" (Arabic name for Jesus) has a Hebrew vibe and "Don't Stand Idly By" is an anti-abortion proclamation with an upbeat although slightly bland melody. Evangelical believers will have a problem with the sentiments in "All Generations" and "Prayer To St Jude" (asking Mary and St Jude respectively to intercede for us) but they are earnest, well executed ballads. One particular standout is the compelling and pacy "Blood Of The Lamb". Overall, a pretty impressive debut.
